All Ages Are Welcome:

Miriam Katz Senior Citizen Program

At our Seymour H. Persky Building on California Avenue, older members of the community can hear lectures, watch movies, play games and enjoy a light luncheon with their peers. Conversations and debates are lively. Discussions revolve around both current events and old memories. We offer Sunday get-togethers and field trips to places of interest. Our Senior programs offer a sense of camaraderie, and ensure that each day is interesting and fulfilling.

Remember to Celebrate:

Holidays at The ARK
As we have grown, holiday programming has become an important part of The ARK. Each year we serve not one, but four Thanksgiving dinners!

As expressions of The ARK’s unique Jewish identity, special holiday food packages are delivered at both Passover and Rosh Hashanah, with the help of the Greater Chicago Maot Chitim Committee. Gifts of food and money are distributed at Purim. For many years, The ARK has hosted the Pauline and Jack Deutsch Chanukah Party, which has grown to include over 1,200 guests. These holiday programs offer the needy not only food, but joy, celebration and a chance to be with others at these special times.
