Steadying the Course:

The Psychological Services Program

How many paychecks separate any of us from financial disaster? What would we need? Besides food, clothing and financial assistance—concrete services that are necessary to heal—there is a need to talk, to share the burden. There is a need for emotional comfort and guidance.

At The ARK, the Psychological Services Program supports our clients as they struggle through crisis.

Our large volunteer staff of psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors and social workers includes many who have been highly successful in private practice. Many are recognized leaders in their field. This caliber of mental health professional is rarely available to the indigent.

Through group and individual therapy sessions, clients are able to develop the necessary inner resources to improve living conditions, obtain work or job training, strengthen family ties and become self-sufficient.

The Psychological Services Program can also provide psychological testing and evaluation to better assess the needs of our clients.
