A Caring Community

The ARK has met the growing needs of our community by increasing its budget. Our current annual budget, made possible by the support of a caring community, is over $3.7 million. We expect to raise nearly 77% of this from individuals. We are looking to foundations and corporations to provide approximately 16%. We will receive about 7% as a special grant recipient of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago.

With your support in the coming year, The ARK will . . .

• Supply 450 hungry families each month with nutritious food from our food pantry.
• Treat hundreds in 2,000 visits to doctors in our medical clinic.
• Provide 1,000 appointments in our dental clinic.
• Restore and save the eyesight of our needy patients in 300 appointments in our eye clinic.
• Comfort, teach and strengthen the frightened and depressed in 6,000 hours of counseling sessions.
• Dispense 13,000 prescriptions from our pharmacy.
• Make 7,500 telephone calls to the homebound.
• Serve 4,000 meals at our Caffe ARK.
• Deliver 1,000 Sabbath baskets to the less fortunate.
• Dispense food vouchers to 300 families.
• Provide clothing and household items to hundreds of people through our Thrift Shop.
• Provide 22,000 hours of volunteer service opportunities.

All free of charge, all given in a spirit of loving the needy.
